Preacher’s Library

One of the most important aspects of study for our call will stand upon the kinds of tools contained in the preacher’s library. A preacher without a library is like a mechanic without the tools to build an engine.

The more widely read you are the more you are like Santa Clause…always finding something in your bag of blessings to communicate the message of Christ to people in need.

We need first to have a relationship with Christ. To study, know and live a Christian lifestyle. When we understand the religious world views of our various communities, of people who are different than we are, we are better equipped to communicate the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ to them.

I believe having a great preacher’s library means reading/studying a wide range, many different categories of books, tapes and movies.

I will suggest two types to start your library:

  • Books that help you Study the Word of God
  • Books that help you understand people

If you have been recently called, you will absolutely need these three items:

  1. A good study Bible
  2. A Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance
  3. A good Bible Dictionary
